Danabug on the Web09 August Saturday about town...So Mike & I decided to not let our infirmities keep us down - we were going to go to the zoo! We packed a small cooler with water bottles & headed out. The zoo was entierely too busy for us. We couldn't see how we could park & get inside in under 30 minutes. So we went to lunch instead. Then instead of the zoo we went to Ault Park (http://www.aultparkac.org/). It has beautiful flower gardens - people adopt plots & create their own version of the ideal garden. Really lovely (see my photo album). We got some walking in, & then rewarded ourselves with Cincinnati's own delicious Graeter's ice cream (http://www.graeters.com/). Yum!
I'm enjoying my new job - two weeks in now. I like the types of tasks I'm doing and my boss is very pleasant to work with. I think it will be a fine place for me to be until Mike gets that job somewhere. 19 July CrossroadsI'm at a crossroads in my life. Instead of waiting for a possible job abolishment I applied for another job in my company (Sallie Mae). So yesterday was my last day in HR. I start my new gig as a legal assistant on the 28th - my new desk is just in the next office so not very far to move. I can't believe that I worked for Julia for 11 years & 4 days - long time. We've had a lot of changes in those years. She's the best boss I've ever worked for.
Mike didn't get the USC job - although they haven't bothered to tell him yet! He has classes to teach lined up for this coming school year at UC, Xavier & NKU so he'll be plenty busy. And now we start the fantasy game of all the possibilities for fall 2009...
We're leaving for NC tomorrow - to spend a few days with our families before fall classes start. I think I'll be canning beans. That sounds nice and mindless...
Mike has updated his travel blog with pictures from our last few trips. There are a LOT - the hazards of a digital camera. So, let's eat a burger & think about sacrifice & how it should be rewarded (how about education Mr. President?).
I've created a photo album for our trip south two weeks ago. Mike's interview with USC-Lancaster went well, but we're still waiting to see if he'll be offered the position. We're ready to move if he is! 26 January St. Paul & UndergarmentsSo last Sunday I went to church wearing longjohns because it was 1 degree. One! I had an interesting "incident" that I blame on the longjohns (something about St. Paul & undergarments). Today it's in the 30s, so I'm hopeful that tomorrow won't bring the same problem!
I got a cut & color today - gotta cover that gray! I think it looks pretty good (pics in my album) - we'll see how it looks when I fix it. I bought all the same products Terry used, but I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to use them to the same effect...
Mike continues to apply all over. We haven't given up on Western Illinois University, but we probably will be looking elsewhere. He's shipping off applications for Ironton, OH, Lancaster, SC & Mississippi State University. I would love to move somewhere warmer - my "arthur" has really been feeling it this past week.

I've added some Christmas pics to my photo album - our deck (we got snow!) & our palm tree  - it's grown so big that we don't have room for our Christmas tree, so we just decorated it! There's also a picture of my boss's twins - aren't they cute?17 November Ohio State vs. MichiganWe went to my boss's house to watch the Ohio State vs. Michigan game. Mike was interested in the game - & I did care who won because everyone at work is cranky when they lose - but I just wanted to play with the babies  ! I've put pictures of them in the photo album - but I totally lost track of which is which - and in fact all of these pictures might be of the same girl! Actually, I know that the last two pics are of two different twins... Ohio State won the game - & I ate a lot of buckeyes.  Sigh. Better be better at the Harvest Dinner at church tomorrow!31 October Halloween, & Dana's baaacckkk...Yes, it's true. I'm going to try for the umpteenth time to keep up with my blog. We'll see. I had a nice loss at WI today (first WI of our new WW at Work meeting) - 4.6 pounds. We're going out of town this weekend (hey Steven & Tre!), but I'm going to try to make sensible choices.
Today was our annual Halloween contest at work. I got an Honorable Mention! I thought my idea was a bit lame - judge for yourself - the pics are in my gallery. But it was EASY & low maintenance, so I was happy.
